Overview

Jaljale trek takes of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Makalu. This is a famous trekking trail since the beginning of 1988. When you do this trek it goes through Tamaur  Arun Valley. The duration of this trek is 26 days. When we start trekking we walk through the lush valley.  Subtropical and touch a bit of coniferous forest. Basically, this trek is for the students and families who are interested to experience the beautiful green valley and remote settlements of Nepal. In this trekking region, there are other trails like the Kanchenjunga circuit trek

Jaljale Trek this area was opened to trekking in the spring of 1988. Most of the villages along the route have rarely seen trekkers. We begin with a flight to Tumlingtar on the banks of the Arun River. A day’s trek brings us to Chainpur, just in time for the colorful weekly market held every Friday. Two days later we climb onto the Milke Danda and begin the gradual ascent across the ridge to JaIjale Himal. This is some of the most pristine wilderness to be found in the Himalayas. With its highest point just over 15,000 feet’, Jaljale is the lowest Himal in the range. Mardi Himal Trek

It is a long, spiny mountain, stretching north-south for over 25 miles, with rugged rock formations dotted by clear alpine lakes. While the net elevation change each day is minimal, the terrain, elevation, and remoteness are challenging. We next travel to the rarely visited town of Topke Gola (13,000′), on the banks of the upper Mewa (Papaya) River. It is inhabited by Tibetan traders and yak herders. As we descend the river, the world becomes greener, warmer, and gentler. Shops selling tea and tongba, a fermented millet drink, offer additional opportunities to make contact with the local people. We complete our trek at Basantapur and drive to Biratnagar for the flight back to Kathmandu. Makalu Base Camp Trek
