Ganesh Himal Trek is one of the best and oldest camping trekking destinations in the northern part of Nepal. In this region, you will get a chance to observe the majestic views of Ganesh I, II, III, and IV peaks, glaciers, gorges, hot natural spas, and quaint Tamang villages. Tamang and Ghale are the major cast living in this region doing agriculture as their main occupation. Ganesh Himal Trek offers mountain rivers, suspension bridges, Tamang villages, deep gorges, dense forest, and spectacular mountain views. Besides that, there are many natural resources which make your trip interesting and fun. There will be a rhododendron flower with varieties of colors during the fall season in the jungle. Itinerary

Day 01
Arrival Kathmandu(1370m.),transfer to hotel, overnight at Hotel

Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will see Nature Trails’ representative waiting for you just outside the arrival deck. You will see either Nature Trail company signboard or a placard with your name printed on it. You will be taken to the trip hotel where you check in and relax for some time. Later we will take you for a short tour of Thamel, the main tourist hub in Kathmandu, to show you some good restaurants, ATMs, money changer and other necessary places you might need to go. Since Nature Trail office is also in Thamel, you will visit us and we will introduce our trekking team including your guide and rest. We will have short meeting and talk about the trip in details. If your arrival is late today, we will do this tour and trip briefing tomorrow before we start sightseeing.

Day 02
Sightseeing around Kathmandu (Hindus and Buddhist temple)

As Kathmandu is temple of the city. We take you famous Hindus temple Pasupatinath and famous Buddhist temple Buddhanath. Nature Trail city tour guide comes with vehicle and you start your sightseeing tour at your desirable time. Pashupatinath Temple: Situated east of Kathmandu City, Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda style has jilted roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Bagmati River, Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temple are the cremation grounds. Temple is famous for its two-tiered golden roof and silver doors. Boudhanath Stupa: This Stupa, east of Kathmandu City, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four-cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. This Buddhist Stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priest. It’s especially colorful on Saturdays, when Tibetan refugees flock here to pray. The chhorten embraces the authentic philosophy of Mahayan the faith of which is known as Lamaism in Sikkim, Ladakh, Bhutan and Tibet. After your tours back to our office late afternoon and check your last gear. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03
Kathmandu – Satdobato (1500m) 7 hrs. drive.

After breakfast we take drive. The first part of driver to Trisuli is black and nice road even though a lot of turning and corner. You cross Trisuli river and through Trusili bazaar to proceed to sole and drive up to Satdobato which is bumpy road. Enjoying the sight and passing through some local houses with great view around. Satdovato includes mix culture such as Tamang, Chhetri Braman etc. It depend on your interest, you may visit high school and the health post and interact with locals. We do camping for overnight just after the town.

Day 04
Satdobato to Bhalche Village (1950m) 5 hrs. walk.

After breakfast we take gradual and last step up to Kisping for the lunch. It is nice walk throw terraces and village. This village consist of Tamang, Dalit and Magars. This place has small monastery of Buddhist people and also Hindu Temple with holy river bank. And this place considers as pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist and locally visited time to time. After Lunch we continue trekking up to Bhalche village where we camp for tonight. It is a nice walk throw terraces, Tamanag village and also can see nice water fall. Bhalche is nice Tamang village where they have small school and government health post, we camp other side of village where you have nice ground and surrounding by Buddhist prayers flags. At the same time on the other side, you could enjoy a nice view of terraces with some local village houses.

Day 05
Bhalche to Gonga (2900m) 6 hrs. walk.

After breakfast we walk toward to Thulo Chour for Lunch, and walk to Gonga and overnight here. After Bhalche we trek through jungle, crossing some small river, streams on way. After sometime walk, we approach to Thulo Chour a beautiful ground in the middle of the jungle. Where are also some chattel Shed, people living in temporary hut. Who looks after cartel and collecting bamboo to make basket, where we take lunch here. Further we start heading through thick forest of Pine and Rhododendron trees. Crossing some small springs then trail step up. We even see animals such as Himalayan monkey and also the great view of Lang tang mountains. Overnights in Gonga.

Day 06
Gonga - Rupchet (3660 m.) 4 hours.

Early morning enjoys the view of Langatng and Tibet mountain ranges. After breakfast we hike through deep rhododendron and pine forest. While walking on trail, we might have a good chance to see the animals that include monkeys, Leaped, and short but steep walk up make difficult because of altitude and the steep up. Either you take early lunch on the way or take late lunch at Rupchet. Late afternoon is free and easy, can enjoy he great Himalayan chamre of Tibet range. Rupchet is Basecamp of Sing-la top and highest altitude to sleep for your trek. Camping site is nice and big ground.

Day 07
Rupchet - Shing La Pass/Top (4200m.) -

Serthunga Kharka (2440 m.) 6-7 hrs. We ought to start our journey early in the early morning to see the sunrise from the top of sing-la. Its takes almost two hours to approach, we mostly need to steps up. From where we can glance the view of Ganesh himal range, Manaslu, Annapurna,Langtang Tibet mountain range. After enjoying the scenery, we have to descend with the view of Ganesh himal range and the small valley down. We proceed through the pine and rhododendron forest, Where we report to the ground beneath the jungle. Today is hardest day of the trek and height altitude you reach. Spend overnight in camp.

Day 08
Serthunga Kharka to Sherthung village (2000 m.) 3 hours.

Approximately for 10-15 minutes we need to walk through jungle, then proceeding through field of corn, maize, wheat, barley etc… Even with the glance of Ganesh Himal. We descend to a remote village of Tamang, Ghele where we camp. There is small primary school. Today we will have a half day free and you may utilize this day for sightseeing around the school, local village or just have a good rest. Overnight at Shertung village.

Day 09
Sherthung Village – Jharlang Phedi (1450m) 6 hour.

For few hour easy walk then some descends, we approach to Borang village, where we encounter with Tamang peoples, even glancing Ganesh himal bit in distance. From Borang village we trek to Jharlang through fields, and can enjoy the magnificent views of Ganesh Himala just after crossing the bridge. We approach to Jharlang where you stay overnight.

Day 10
Jharlang - Kintang Phedi (1000 m.) 6 hours

We continue our trek through down and with a few ups and downs. We enjoy great views of the mountains, as we walk through the friendly small villages where the local folks greet us warmly. We also come across nice farmlands with different vegetable grown of which some is consumed by the local folks and rest can be trade in the local bazaar. Further, we approach to hot spring. Where we can take even a quick bath and proceed on. Small rest, we continue walk enjoying the view of the river Netrawati. Kintang Phedi is a small valley with mix culture where the river Netrawati and Kintang rivar are mixed together. Camp at the river side and we spend night here.

Day 11
Kintang Phedi – Serabensi - jyamrung village (700m.) 6 hours.

Proceeding through rice fields, some small villages, it is gradual downhill, passing up small up and downs. It is Nepalese style flat easy walk following the Netrawati river side which river comes from Ganesh Himal glacier. Due to the glacier water, we can see nice rice field and terrace and villages which makes our walk scenic. Finally, you reach Khaahre Baazar which is a shopping town for the local people here. We walk further, just easy way to Serabensi Jyamrung, where we camp tonight. In state of camping, we can also home stay here in this village in a local house and get involve in daily local life style.

Day 12
Jyamrung (Sharabensi) Stay in a local house and explore locally

We get familiar with the surroundings, the families. We will be living with them and interact. We also spend our time using our skills by teaching at our school project, help in health project in the villages, as we work with the local people get involved in their daily activities. As other activities, we can also go for fishing, or swimming whichever you prefer.

Day 13
Jyamrung Sharabensi) to Kathmandu, 30m. walk to Sukaura and 6 drive to Kathmandu.

We cross the river by hanging bridge and take private 4whl drive, waiting from Kathmandu Half part of road to Dhaidng Bensi which is district headquarter is bumpy and after Dhading Bensi drive to Malkheu where we reach highway and to Kathmandu which is half part of road is black. It is a scenic drive. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14
Kathmandu Valley, sightseeing tour

Walk with us around the local town in Kathmandu to feel the local life and culture. On your arrival before you start “Ganesh Himal trekking” you have done a day sightseeing tour to Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, now we can arrange sightseeing tour to other world heritage sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Squares and other main sighseeing places of Ksthmandu valley. It depends on your time, we can also organize other places as within Kathmandu valley we do have 7 world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO. Further, if you are looking for the theme-based walking tour in the center of the Kathmandu valley, The tour lets you a great moment to enclose with the religious and cultural affluence to unveil the social and historical mysteries. Bustling city, to view the artistic Kathmandu. Sightseeing tour bequeaths you an opportunity to capture the snaps of the centuries old monuments, and historical crafts in the Kathmandu city. We take you walking tour to Local market Ason, oldest supermarket Vishal Bazar, Kilagod, Hidden Stupa etc. Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is famous for its unique history, cultural and religion and the living goddess “Kumari” lives here. We do have lots of small monuments and temples in this areas to explore.. We can see an antique architecture of statue, perfectly carved wooden windows and doors. This will be the right destination to study for those who loves to extend the history of Nepal’s old king family etc. and also a museum too. It is one of the Kathmandu’s most spectacular legacy of traditional architecture.

Day 15
Local representative will transfer to International airport.

At the farewell day, Nature Trail Trekking and Expeditions’ representative drops you at the airport for your final departure. Thank you for your wonderful experience with us, and see you again
