Overview

Ruby Valley Trek lies in the Northern part of Nepal on the Lap of Mt. Ganesh Himal. This trekking trail offers you different diversity. The Trekking starts either from Dhading district or driving to Shyabru Bensi by local bus. The drive takes 8-9 hrs with the rough road. You will pass through different villages of the Tamang ethnic group. Gatlang village is one of the stopovers for the famous trekking trail Tamang heritage trek. During this trek, you will get a chance to get interact with Nepali culture, Tamang people, and the lifestyle of people living in the Himalayas. Ruby Valley Trek leads you to the lap of Mt. Ganesh Himal walking through the big pine trees, thick jungle, and the rhododendron trees. for 3 days you will be always walking through the jungle and a wide road will reach the Pangsang Pass with an elevation of 3850 m. The view of Mt. Manaslu, Langtang Himal range can be observed from the top.

Please note that Yoga is practiced early morning or evening on empty stomach, it is not practiced when tired when walking in the mountain and the teacher must be an expert on the subject. Otherwise one may have an adverse effect.

We provide this Yoga course for the first three mornings in Kathmandu, during which we offer short sightseeing tours of Kathmandu in the afternoon. After that you will relax in the beautiful lake town of Pokhara for a couple of days, join a scenic two-day hike. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Itinerary

Day 01:
Arrival in Kathmandu (1295m.)

Arrival in Kathmandu (1295m.). After your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check-in, you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel.

Day 02:
Kathmandu to drive safer Besi ( 1600m.) 7 hrs.

Kathmandu to drive safer Besi ( 1600m.) 7 hrs. Trek down to Syabru Besi via Sherpa Gaon. The upper part of the trail is more beautiful for the panoramic view of mountains and green hill views. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Sherpa and Tamang villages. The first half part of the trail is gradually down and then the trail does steeply descent to the Syabru Besi.

Day 03:
Syabru Besi to Gatlang 2337m.

Syabru Besi to Gatlang 2337m. 6 hrs A dirt track zig-zags to the west up to Bahun Danda Pass and then down to the Tamang settlement of Gatlang, a cornerstone village on the Tamang Heritage Trail, or hike to Gatlang by way of Chawatar. Gatlang is a Tamang village with unique customs and craftsmanship in a magnificent setting. Above lies Parvati Kund, popular during Janai Purnima when thousands of pilgrims are attracted to the sacred pond and nearby temple.

Day 04:
Gatlang to Somdang 3271 m.

Gatlang to Somdang 3271 m. 6 hrs The trail ascends through pine and rhododendron forest to a lunch point of Yuri Kharka before continuing to Khurphu Bhanjyang and then dropping down to the Somdang River, the border between Raceway and Dhading districts.

Day 05:
Somdang – Tipling by crosing Phangsang Pass (3842 m).

Somdang – Tipling by crosing Phangsang Pass (3842 m). Phangsang Kharka is a viewpoint southwest of Somdang village with a broad panorama of the surrounding terrain. To the north are the soaring peaks of Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal Range. The large meadow is graced with a giant entry gateway and is a sensational location for camping and taking in the breathtaking scenery. The whole Ganesh Himal region is blessed with abundant herbal plants.

Day 06:
Tipling rests day.

Day 6: Tipling rest day. Today of the Ruby valley Trek visit Villages, we begin our hike through descending hill and Health post and then ascending trail to Tipling (1875m), a small village surrounded by Tamang which offers the spectacular view of Ganesh Himal Range. Overnight at Shertung.

Day 07:
Tipling –Sertung(1900m.) 4 hrs.

Tipling –Sertung(1900m.) 4 hrs. On the seventh day of the Ruby valley Trek, we begin our trek through descending trail to Adha Khola and then ascending trail to Shertung (1875m), a small village surrounded by Tamang which offers the spectacular view of Ganesh Himal Range. Overnight at Shertung.

Day 08:
Serthung to Chalish Today after breakfast Visit Tatopani (2 hrs walk

Serthung to Chalish Today after breakfast Visit Tatopani (2 hrs walk) and back to Chalish Gaon (1646m) for 4-5hrs Today after breakfast we walk for about 2 hours for Tatopani a natural hot spring and spend some time at the hot spring and wash away all our aches. Then begin our trek toward Chalish Gaon (1646m) which takes about 4-5 hours. Overnight at Chalish Gaon.

Day 09:
Trek Chalish Gaon to Jharlang (3020m) for 5-6 hrs

Trek Chalish Gaon to Jharlang (3020m) for 5-6 hrs Experiencing the Ruby valley Trek, we continue our trek from Chalish following the trail that passes through Mani Danda from where great views of Ganesh Himal Range can be seen. We continue to trek following the trail that passes through Lishne jungle and Chhapchyat village and arrives at Jharlang (3020m) with the walk for about 5-6 hours. Overnight at Jharlang.

Day 10:
Jharlang Gaun – Darkha Phedi – Dhading Besi – Kathmandu.

Jharlang Gaun – Darkha Phedi – Dhading Besi – Kathmandu. Early in the after breakfast we trek for an hour and reach Darkha Phedi (1349m) from where we will catch a local bus and drive towards Dhading Besi and then finally to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 11:
Final departure back to your home.

Final departure back to your home. Your Ruby Valley Trek terminates today. You will be escorted to the airport by one of our representatives and there we exchange our last good-byes. You will be traveling towards your further destination with all the memories you had during your tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us. The following equipment list is required for Nepal Trekking and climbing and a list, you have to have suggested equipment just have with you, however, that you just might have your own personal first choice equipment which can be equally as appropriate

Footwear

  1. Walking boots with suitable ankle support that have been worn-in prior to the trek, and which are waterproof.
  2. Trainer or casual shoes, for trekking and/or for travelling.
  3. Warm socks for colder areas.
  4. Gaiters, in case of rain or snow

Legwear

  1. Loose, casual trousers for trekking.
  2. Thermal leggings for colder areas.
  3. Long skirt for women as an alternative to trousers.
  4. Waterproof trousers

Body

  1. Selection of T-shirts, and long-sleeved shirts, preferably not cotton.
  2. Thermal shirt for colder areas.
  3. Warm shirt, possibly fleeces, for colder areas.

  2. Hat or cap for sun protection while trekking.

  1. Strong rucksack or large hold all to be carried by porters.
  2. Daysack to be carried personally.
  3. Plastic bags or stuff sacks to store/separate trekking gear inside your main bag.
  4. One litre water bottle.
